Shamus O’Meara Presents at National School Boards Association Conference

O’Meara Leer Wagner & Kohl partner Shamus O’Meara recently presented on a Safe and Secure Schools panel at the National School Boards Association Annual Conference in Philadelphia.  Along with DLR Group principal architect Chris Gibbs and superintendent Matt Helgerson, Shamus discussed the important issue of school security design in the wake of recent school shootings across the country, including effective design and crime prevention techniques as part of proper emergency planning using best practices and national guidance.

Shamus presents nationally on school security topics.  He has worked with the U.S. and Minnesota Departments of Education, U.S. Attorneys Office, Secret Service, FBI, Minnesota Department of Public Safety, school districts, and many state and national education organizations to promote safety awareness and crisis management in schools and on campuses.
