O’Meara, Leer, Wagner & Kohl, P.A. Attorneys Selected “Super Lawyers” and “Rising Star”

O’Meara, Leer, Wagner and Kohl proudly announces that three of the Firm’s shareholders –Timothy J. Leer (Personal Injury Defense), Shamus P. O’Meara (Construction Litigation), and Dale O. Thornsjo (Insurance Coverage) – have once again been recognized as “Super Lawyers” by their peers in Minnesota.  Joining them again this year is Partner Lance D. Tim Leer is senior partner at the Firm where he serves as its President, and chairs the Firm’s General Liability and Professional Liability practice groups. He is Certified as a Civil Trial Specialist, practicing for more than 37 years in the areas of product liability, professional and pharmaceutical liability, premises and security liability, and motor vehicle law. He is the Firm’s most prolific trial lawyer having taken more than 150 cases to trial. 

Shamus O’Meara represents and guides a diverse group of clients from multinational corporations to emerging businesses, educational institutions, employers and families. He serves as a mediator and arbitrator for construction, commercial and educational disputes, and as an expert witness and consultant for safety and security matters. He also advocates for greater independence, self-determination and access to justice for people with developmental disabilities and their families. He has also been recognized as a Minnesota Lawyer Attorney of the Year, and is rated AV Preeminent by his peers through Martindale Hubbell for excellent legal abilities and professional ethics.

Dale Thornsjo chairs the Firm’s Insurance Coverage Practice Group and its Toxic Tort and Product Liability Practice Group.  He focuses his work on counseling clients and litigating their insurance coverage and liability risks in the continually evolving construction, commercial, products liability, toxic tort and environmental arenas.  He has lectured and authored articles on a variety of complex insurance coverage and product liability matters, appeared as amicus counsel before the Minnesota Supreme Court on several insurance coverage appeals, and has testified before various committees of the Minnesota Legislature on insurance coverage and bad faith issues.  In addition to his Martindale Hubbell AV Preeminent rating by his peers, he has also been selected by his peers for inclusion in the Best Lawyers in America© publication in the areas of Insurance Law and Mass Tort Litigation/Class Actions – Defendants.

Lance Meyer focuses his commercial litigation practice on insurance coverage, construction, products liability, and other general liability matters.  In his insurance coverage practice, he counsels insurers on a variety of complex coverage issues, including trigger, allocation, other-insurance, duty-to-defend, bad-faith, coordination-of-coverage, and construction-defect issues, and represents them in all stages of insurance coverage disputes in state and federal court.  Lance also chairs the Firm’s Appellate Practice Group and assists clients with appeals before Minnesota’s appellate courts and the Eighth Circuit Court of Appeals.
